Meet
Dr. Mary Manning, DTCM, LAc, Dip. O.M. (NCCAOM), CPHPCA
A History of Care
Dr. Mary began her healthcare career as a Registered Veterinary Technician, working in a wide range of settings including academia, specialty, emergency and critical care, general practice, and holistic medicine. Her work with animals first introduced her to the profound benefits of acupuncture and a holistic approach to healing.
Transitioning to Human Medicine
Inspired to deepen her knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Dr. Mary and her husband—along with their three dogs and cat—relocated from North Carolina to Santa Cruz, California. There, she completed over 3,500 hours of clinical and academic training at Five Branches University, earning both her Master’s and Doctorate degrees. During her studies, she focused on treating pain, digestive disorders, mental health, and senior care.
Continued Education
In addition to her advanced degrees, Dr. Mary has completed post-graduate studies in Neuro-Acupuncture with renowned practitioners Drs. Jason and Linda Hao, focusing on supporting patients recovering from strokes and other neurological conditions. She also received specialized training in hospice and palliative care, earning certification as a Certified Provider of Hospice and Palliative Care Acupuncture. Dr. Mary is nationally board certified as a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and is licensed to practice in the state of California.
